I am not a psychiatrist but my own life experience with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) leads me to believe that she has it too. She probably has other disorders along with the OCD. Perhaps bipolar disorder but the compulsive obsession with split ends would very likely lead a doctor to diagnose her with OCD at the very LEAST. I have it. I didn't do the split ends but I did other things. I used to pick the callouses off my feet until they were raw. I also had an obsession with counting and the number seven. Back then my parents didn't know what to do. Today there is treatment. Get your friend to see a doctor...FAST!
