I am a single Mother of two children and recently met someone that I thought was perfect.?

After being single for 10 years and finally meeting someone that I felt I could built a relationship with an incident occured that has raised a huge question mark. I have two children and really wanted to have a relationship with a family oriented man. I wanted someone that was a good father figure especially. I met him and we were as near perfect as I had experienced. He seemed to be a perfect father also. I had noticed that he was strict but that was appreciated because I know that is one of my short comings with my kids. Then after making dinner with him for our kids to sit down together the Norman Rockwell painting collasped. He and his son had an argument and he suggested they take it outside. He punched his son in the face and scared me severely. I left my husband due to his anger problems in dealing with the kids. This man and I get along better than anyone I have met since I have been divorced. This behavior makes me wonder what goes on when I am absent.
